How to Select a Business Voice Mail Client
You might wonder WHY? Why do I need this added expense? Why can’t I just use my cell phone? Why can’t I just use my land line? Or worse yet is I’m paying for business line…Now, if you’ve had your business line for 20 years and you don’t want to get rid of it…I understand that BUT you still need to be mobile – in other words, people calling your business line and/or a local number and it transferring to your phone for you to answer it or send it to voice mail and once you send it to voicemail, you’ll get an email notification and once you download the app – a notice on your phone that you have a new message. There are two great solutions and I’ve used both that a very inexpensive.
My first choice is:
Pick a number for your business
Record your custom main greeting
Add departments and employees
Get calls, voicemails, and faxes anywhere and any time
Plus – there are tons of additional features, like conference call lines, etc. – all for less than 25/month.
My second choice is:
You basically can get all the same features as grasshopper.com – and at first glance it seems like it’s less than grasshopper But, they do charge you for minutes. Meaning if you answer the line and talk, you’re extra. I don’t like that! Plus, there fax system is confusing because you have to have another number. With grasshopper.com, you can say in “stay on the line to send a fax.” Simple.
Now the good news is this: If you choose one of these services and decide to change to another service later on, you can take your 800 with you. It’s called “porting.” And the same is true if you have a 800 number connected to your business line. You own that 800 number and can use it instead of getting a new one.
So, get mobile!
Now, what I didn’t talk about in this video is having an actually LIVE person answer the phone for you…we’ll talk about that in another video because that is really an upgrade – it’s much more expensive. So, just get started with a virtual answering service first and remember, SPEAK FROM YOUR HEART BUT BE BUSINESS SMART.
